DOES SPEED COME CHEAP?
The answer to that one is probably not,
although how cheap is cheap?
Having had club drivers using the £30
Orion Orbital 12x3 motors, it
is fair to say they are a match for
the price limit motors, but can need
more maintenance (brushes) and therefore
increase running costs.
As with all motors constant maintenance
is essential, brushes must
be checked after each run and comm's
skimmed whenever required.
Lack of proper maintenance costs in
the long run and performance
will always be bad, it pays to look
after your motor!! The drivers that
always have fast cars are the ones
that keep their cars in good order
including bearings diffs and belts
etc, a free running car = a fast car.
Generally the hotter (lower wind) motor
you use the more maintenance
is required at shorter intervals. Stock
motors do have their advantages!!
IF IT'S SPEED YOU NEED - TAKE TIME
TO TUNE YOUR MOTOR!!
