Report by Terry Stockham [meeting results]
Club Championship Round 4
With fine dry weather forecast a good turn out for the meeting was on the cards, with 37 drivers racing it provided some excellent close racing. The qualifying saw track temperatures of around 15 degrees. Take Off CS-22 and later CS-27 tyres proved to giving the grip needed to power several drivers up into new personal best FTQ times.  In the Stock 27T class David Wastall poled the A final with a super 13 304.92 over 3 seconds clear of Mark Marshall in 2nd. Clive Stockham once again came top in qualifying for Modified class with a new 200m track record of 15 317.37, an average lap time of 21.16 seconds. Philip Thurlby was the top qualifier for the 15T Control class with an impressive 7th overall in Modified. Both George Simmons and Philip Thurlby led the way for the junior under 13's in 27T & 15T respectively.

The finals turned out to be quite exciting with no virtually no qualifying dominance carrying over to the finals. A drop in track temperature due to the wind picking up caused some 'off' performance and caught some drivers out. Les Help came through to win on points in 27T from David Wastall in 2nd, and Clive Stockham won Modified from Neil Gavin in 2nd. Both results were tied on points, and the dropped scores were needed to decide the winner.

The trophies were presented for the BRCT 2001/02 Winter Championship, with some well earned results from the winter weather die-hards!! The most improved drivers of recent weeks, Damon Blackmer and Callum Marsh both continued to do well, Damon poled the 27T B final, but Callum the 'birthday boy' (12 today) ended up mid B final.
