| Open Championship Round 8 (A2)
Wet and very windy weather affected the meeting but racing carried on. With roads blocked by trees around Kent the die hard outdoor racers made their way to compete in the final round of the Open Championship. Some very strong gusts of wind tested out the strength of the rostrum, and it withstood all the weather could throw at it. Those enthusiastic (some would say mad) racers were racing regardless of the weather and some very good racing was seen. As usual track records were up for the taking and Stuart Rand in 27T Stock secured the A2 track record with 19/306.23 having been racing hard against top contender Darren Tickner. Kenneth Cooper and Gary Horn battled away all meeting in Modified class with Gary taking the track record with 19/303.48 both classes were very close. This was the first time the A2 track has been raced on. The final results of the Open Championship are:
