Winter Championship Round 8
Both the 27T U13 and Control class championships were to be decided at round 8, the last round of the BRCT winter series.

Track conditions were wet so HPI 20R or 23R slicks and Pits D20 treaded wets were the tyre choice for many.

George Simmons

George Simmons led the way through most of the 27T qualifying and finals. He put his TC3 on pole for the A final with a good time of 12/304.28, and followed this up with a win in leg 1 and leg 2 of the finals. So George secured the 27T U13 Championship. Philip Thurlby also did well ending up taking 2nd in the U13's. Les Help however took the overall win in 27T.

Keith Simmons and Ken Cooper continued their battle for the 15T control class championship, with Ken managing to take the championship win following some close racing. The decider came in the leg 3 of the A final when a crash lost Keith several valuable seconds and left Ken with the win.

Clive Stockham put his TC3 on pole for the A final with a time of 13/311.96 in Modified class. His brother Terry was close behind in 2nd. The finals were closely fought, with Terry taking leg 1, and led leg 2 until a mistake lost him the lead. Clive went on to win leg 3 despite a slow start behind Terry.

Trophies will be presented at Barham during the first round of the BRCT 2002 Spring Championship.
